Privacy Policy

How Talk to My Lawyer handles account data, intake submissions, analytics, communications, and operational security.

Last updated July 3, 2026.

Information collected

The platform collects account information, intake details, draft content, uploaded file metadata, billing metadata, support messages, security logs, suppression records, and basic analytics required to operate the service.

Payment card details are handled by Stripe or another payment processor and are not stored directly by Talk to My Lawyer.

How information is used

Information is used to generate drafts, coordinate attorney review, deliver completed files, process payments, provide account security, respond to support requests, improve the service, and maintain required operational records.

We may use lifecycle and suppression data to decide whether an email should be sent, stopped, retried, or permanently suppressed.

Security and confidentiality

Operational safeguards are used to protect submitted data in transit and at rest. Where attorneys review drafts, professional confidentiality obligations also apply.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users should avoid submitting information unrelated to the requested letter and should contact support promptly if they believe account access has been compromised.

Email compliance and suppression

Before any cold outreach, Talk to My Lawyer requires sender-domain authentication, a monitored reply path, manual approval, and suppression checks against unsubscribes, bounces, complaints, replies requesting no further contact, and manual do-not-contact entries.

A recipient can opt out by replying stop, unsubscribe, or a similar no-contact request. Suppression records are retained to honor those choices and prevent future outreach.

Service providers and retention

We use service providers for hosting, payment processing, email delivery, attorney-review workflow, analytics, backups, security monitoring, and support operations. Providers receive only the information needed to perform their role.

We retain records as needed for service delivery, legal compliance, billing, audit logs, dispute handling, suppression compliance, backups, and security. Backup copies may persist for a limited retention period after live records are changed.

Contact

Questions, privacy requests, refund requests, subscription cancellation requests, and suppression requests can be sent to support@talkmylawyer.com.
