Terms of Service

Terms governing use of the Talk to My Lawyer website, platform workflows, attorney review process, and account responsibilities.

Last updated July 3, 2026.

Service scope

Talk to My Lawyer is a legal-letter drafting and review platform. The service helps users organize facts, generate draft correspondence, and route drafts for attorney review when that review is included in the selected plan or workflow.

Browsing the website, creating an account, using intake tools, or receiving an automated draft does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. Any attorney review is limited to the submitted letter draft and the facts provided through the platform unless a separate written engagement agreement says otherwise.

The platform is not a substitute for full legal representation, litigation counsel, emergency legal advice, or advice about deadlines that require immediate action.

Attorney-review disclaimer

Attorney review means a licensed attorney or authorized legal reviewer may review the submitted facts and draft for clarity, tone, legal-letter posture, and obvious unsupported claims before approval or return for changes.

Attorney review does not guarantee a result, settlement, payment, response, court outcome, enforceability, or compliance with every law that could apply to your matter. You remain responsible for deciding whether, when, and how to send any letter.

Accounts and submissions

You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for providing accurate factual information in submissions.

False, incomplete, misleading, or unlawful information can affect draft quality, review outcomes, delivery timing, and eligibility for refunds or continued service access.

You may not use the service to harass, threaten unlawful conduct, impersonate others, submit confidential information you are not authorized to provide, or send letters for illegal purposes.

Payments, subscriptions, and cancellation

Paid plans cover drafting workflows, attorney review where included, and digital delivery. Turnaround estimates are targets rather than guarantees.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel through the billing portal when available or by contacting support@talkmylawyer.com from the account email. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund charges already incurred or remove access already delivered.

If a subscription is cancelled, access continues through the paid billing period unless the account is terminated for misuse, fraud, nonpayment, chargeback abuse, or legal risk.

Refund policy

If a submitted draft is rejected by the review team and cannot reasonably be revised into a usable attorney-reviewed letter, the related paid draft fee is eligible for a refund.

For approved drafts, refund requests must be sent to support@talkmylawyer.com within 7 days of delivery and must explain the issue. We may offer correction, redrafting, credit, or refund depending on the facts, usage, and whether the issue resulted from inaccurate or incomplete intake information.

Subscription renewals are generally non-refundable once the billing period begins, except where required by law or where we determine that a platform error prevented meaningful use of the subscription. Refunds are returned to the original payment method when technically possible.

Communications and outreach

Transactional emails may be sent for account verification, password resets, billing, draft status, attorney review, support, and security events.

Marketing or outreach emails must include accurate sender information and a working opt-out path. We maintain suppression records for unsubscribes, bounces, complaints, direct opt-out requests, and manual suppressions before any cold outreach workflow is used.
